Who We Are
The Rockland Chiropractic Clinic has been serving the health care needs of Clarence-Rockland for over 30 years in the same location. Two experienced and personable Doctors of Chiropractic, Daniel Vandervoort and Barbara Dance have both been helping people with their muscular-skeletal and spinal problems for over 15 years in Rockland. They have a solid working relationship with the family doctors and other health care providers of the community, although no medical referral is necessary to visit a chiropractor. Many people have 3rd party insurance coverage for chiropractic care, custom orthotics and registered massage therapy, all of which are provided at our clinic.
Our clinic provides convenient morning and evening hours. New patients are welcome and can often be seen the same day or week of your first call to our office. We provide choices of care from pain relief to preventive maintenance at affordable fees. Dr. Dance and Dr. Vandervoort will provide you with the chiropractic technique that is best suited to your problem and body type. No one is too young or too old to benefit from gentle modern chiropractic care.
Dr. Maria Coulombe ND
Dr.Coulombe ND is married and has 1 son, her interests include meditation, an appreciation for nature and good food. Her philosophy as a Naturopathic Doctor is to approach treating the root cause of illness using natural therapies to stimulate the body’s inherent ability to heal. Treatments are individualized using various modalities such as nutrition, botanical medicine, physical therapies, acupuncture and cupping as well as homeopathy and lifestyle counseling. Through discussion and collaboration a health plan is customized. Naturopathy is not a quick fix but rather an ongoing collaboration between patient and doctor to enhance health through natural means.

Naturopathic Doctor
Naturopathic Doctors are primary care and adjunctive health care providers for people of all ages that use natural therapies to support and stimulate healing processes.
Like an M.D., a licensed Naturopathic doctor must have the premedical undergraduate courses before entering a four year program for Naturopathic medicine. The Naturopathic doctor must have the knowledge of the same basic sciences but with a focus on natural and nontoxic ways of healing. The Naturopathic doctor does not replace medical doctors but rather works collaboratively in the prevention and treatment of illness.

Nutrition and Lifestyle modification
An individualized diet plan can be customized to address common symptoms such as low energy, bloating, weight gain, mood changes, pain, skin eruptions to name a few. Allergy testing through approved provincial lab tests can help pinpoint allergies. Stress also plays a role in how we process our nutrition. Through lifestyle counseling the mental, emotional, physical patterns are discussed to help modify patterns that contribute to poor health.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a therapy that balances energy called Qi that has been disrupted or blocked by illness. Acupuncture treatments address conditions such as joint and muscle pain, digestive challenges, anxiety/depression as well as fertility issues. Cupping is also offered to enhance circulation and promote smoother flow of Qi.
Botanical Medicine
Botanical medicine comprises of herbs that come in different forms such as tinctures, teas or capsules used to address various health conditions. The Potential side effects between herbs and drugs are researched by the naturopathic doctor.
Homeopathy
Is a form of energy therapy originally developed in the 18th century by German physician Samuel Hahnemann. Homeopathy is based on the principle of ‘like cures like’, using minute amounts of plant, mineral or animal substances used to gently stimulate the body’s self-healing. An individualized intake is taken to determine the remedy that is called for.

Food Allergy Testing to determine IgG food sensitivities that may be implicated in health conditions such as migraine, IBS, eczema.
Generalized laboratory testing urine, blood tests for nutrient deficiencies, cholesterol panel, and thyroid panel as an example.
